Kathy Diamond Interview

Another week, another underground hero- or heroine in this case. Sheffield-born Kathy Diamond struck disco gold with her now classic collaboration with producer Maurice Fulton, “Miss Diamond To You”. The critical acclaim for single “All Woman” made label Permanent Vacation a label to watch and the record itself the first bonafide classic to come out of the so-called Nu Disco genre.

Since then Kathy’s been working with a handful of talented producers, constantly pushing her sound in different and interesting directions. I was lucky to catch up with Miss Diamond on one of her studio trips from hometown Brighton; the result is this, my most disgustingly gushy interview to date…
