James Hillard (Horse Meat Disco) Interview

Over the past few years, Horse Meat Disco (alongside Lowlife) have become the standard bearers in London for all things disco and fabulous. From the music, to the people and the people’s outfits; Horse Meat Disco has established itself as the place to go if you wanna let it all go.

Their reputation as the gay party of gay parties is tempered by the fact that it’s also a hetero-friendly party, making for a mad, free and euphoric atmosphere. In essence, it’s considered by many to be one of London’s all-time-greatest nights.

James Hillard is one of the four principles behind HMD, the others being Jim Stanton, Severino and Luke Howard. Here James talks about the night’s origins, creating their hit compilation, and the art of making a party go bang.

Great post… I met James briefly at East Village Radio here in NYC and he seemed like a really cool guy- same on this vid. The compilation was excellent. Can’t wait for Vol. 2!
