I know I’m probably waaay off the boil on this one (it has been Piccadilly Record’s ‘Record Of The Week’, afterall), but it’s absolutely brilliant, so who cares? If I can put two more people on to this, then it’s been worth the post.
Raw production, jubilant crowds, emotive synths of such lightness that they subvert the whole track… It’s all here. This really does get better and better with every listen (if you’re wondering why I’ve got a picture of Joe Di Maggio up there, it’s because the tune’s on 3rd Strike Records. See what I did there? Amazing).
