Sofrito a go-go: a night at Sofrito and Q & A with Frankie Francis…

A couple of weeks back I went to one of the best parties I’ve been to in the twelve years I’ve lurked in London. You know those sixties movies that always had a crazy four-screen montage (think Steve McQueen’s Bullit): you know- the counter-culture guy takes straight girl to an insanely cool underground party full of free-spirited beautiful people dancing to mad psychedelic music … Well, replace the psychedelia with mind-blowing afro-disco-latin rarities (and I mean rarities) and you’ve got Sofrito. It’s ridiculous. I didn’t recognise a single record played all night- and I doubt anyone else did- but that room was fit to EXPLODE. So do yourself a favour…
