Lexx Interview

vimeo Direkt

Swiss DJ and producer Alex Storrer aka Lexx is one of the most respected members of the modern disco house firmament. He manages to achieve this without being particularly prolific, but by being high on the quality control and by being very selective as to where he releases his music; Permanent Vacation, Drumpoet Community and Leng have all stabled his productions.

He’s also known for his deep crates (not to mention knowledge) and his killer eclectic mixes that are regularly posted within the forums of sites like DJ History.

Lexx’s story is very like my own: came up in the late eighties/early nineties, became obsessed with Hip Hop during the golden era (89-95) and then moved into electronic music in the late nineties. I could tell Lexx had a Hip Hop history long before I met him; it’s impossible not to pick up on that unmistakable ‘knock’ and swing in his music.

Interviewing Lexx has definitely been one of my favourite Heads Down moments. Not only is he a highly talented and knowledgable subject, but he’s also an incredibly likable and honest dude who is welcome round at Chateau Tubbs anytime.
