Digitalism are a couple of Hamburgers (hamburglers?) that rose to fame around 2008; they arrived at that moment where indie, electro and a new raucous eclecticism (a la Erol Alkan) became fashionable and inadvertently reinvigorated dance music for a new generation.
I recently conducted the above interview for the Basement Sessions , posted it on Facebook and discovered that quite a few Heads Down types found it rather interesting, despite being the same types who’d probably rather sprint into a spinning propeller than actually listen to Digitalism’s music. Whatever tribe you belong to- fan or cynic- I hope you enjoy the interview. Let me know how you feel about it!
