Red Rack’em ‘The Early Years’ Interview

I recently talked to Heads Down favourite and all round compadre-in-arms Red Rack’em (aka Daniel Berman) about his debut album ‘The Early Years’, on his very own imprint Bergerac. Danny’s been going from strength to strength in the last year with heavy releases on my own Untracked imprint and some other lesser-known labels I can’t remember the name of. I’m kidding: I’m referring to Deep Freeze, Shift, Hometaping and Undertones.

There’s a lot of buzz around Danny in general at the moment: I went into two different soho record stores last Friday, both blaring ‘How I Program‘, both with a member of staff raving to a customer how Danny’s pretty much the hottest and most consistently creative underground producer of the here and now (or, you know, words to that effect!). Your ears must be burning Mr Berman… I for one pretty much agree.

If you’re in London’s soho this Saturday the 9th of October, you should go down to Phonica for the release party from 6-8pm… There’s free beer and Red Rack’em will be rocking the nickel-plated wheels (with some very special guests, so I’m told)…
