Maurice Fulton RBMA Radio Show

Anyone who regularly visits my blog probably knows that I’ve got the hots for anything Maurice Fulton related. He hasn’t really delivered any stone-cold monsters since his work with Kathy Diamond though; remember the three pronged assault that was his mix of Alice Smith, the Ost & Kjex remix and Kathy’s ‘All Woman‘? I like […]

The Stepkids ‘La La’ (Stones Throw)

I’ve ranted and raved about Stones Throw many times on Heads Down; the sheer breadth of their sonic remit is frikkin awesome. Their past as a purist underground hip hop label seems such a long time ago, yet you can still smell the Polo aftershave in everything they do. I heart them, in other words. […]

All Saints Basement Session: Zane Lowe (Pt 2)

Due to the surprising (read astonishing) number of you who showed interest and appreciation for part one of my interview with Zane, here’s part two. I have to say I’m quite astonished by the reception… I was expecting a barrage of vile comments and ticking mail; I guess there’s still time though. vimeo Direkt

Robert Owens Interview (Part 3)

I really enjoyed interviewing Robert; he’s an underground legend, a warmly endearing person and a fantastic artist. And as much as I loved hearing about his writing process, his collaboration with Larry Heard and the creation of his new album, what I REALLY wanted to hear about was the clubs, the atmosphere- what it was […]

AllSaints Basement Sessions

Recently I’ve been hard at work in the basement of AllSaints clothing, not in a janitorial role as you might imagine, but rather as part of the music team putting together interviews and sessions with new bands, interesting DJs and pioneering producers for the new music page on their website. I’m going to post my […]

Special Golf Channel Recordings Event

If you’re in London on Thursday 17th of February you should get down to this. Golf Channel are just about the hottest label coming out of New York right now (bar ESP Institute) and they just seem to be climbing further and further up the barometer, with super esoteric releases from Heroes Of The Galleon […]

Seahawks Questicle Comic Strip

Pete Fowler (one of the cosmic adventurers behind the wonderful Seahawks) has just started posting these ‘Questicle’ comic strips, which I think are striking high on the awesomometer. Pete’s obviously well know for his Monsterism designs; now he’s turned not just his musical but his visual skills to the Seahawks project. Dope.

Robert Owens Interview (Part Two)

Here’s the second part of my interview with the man behind that legendary voice. In this episode we talk about the message in the music and walking the road less travelled (amongst other things…) vimeo Direkt
